Bboi dancing is one of my passions and so I travel the country taking photographs of dance competitions.

The last competition I photographed was Speak to the Streets and the photos can be seen below.

Countryside Photography

The Country Park

Winter isn’t the best of time to take photographs in the countryside. It is muddy, lacking in colour and above all, cold!

But, if you’re lucky, you just might capture some images that are fairly beautiful.

I’ve picked out some of the best photos that I took today, although not all of them are brilliant.

Sunset is one of the most beautiful times of day to take photographs, the golden lights are really spectacular. It sets a romantic hue over all photographs.

Painting with Light

My First Experiments

I’ve not done much on light photography before, but I’d had a few drinks and it all looked like fun and games!

I had some willing volunteers so I propped up my tripod, set the camera to yet another long exposer and experimented with L.E.D’s!

I just want to stress, this is my first time and not my best work! lol

Had some interesting results with the experiments that I did. A huge thank you to my vaguely willing volunteers, the Ashforths!

Light in the Darkness

A Long Exposure

I wanted to share this photo with you by itself. It was taken while we were driving to our stay-cation in the Lake District.

We were utterly lost and had pulled over to consult our phone navigation and adjust our satnav.

I spotted the cottage behind the pub we’d pulled into and promptly set up my tripod to capture the moment.

The actual area was pitch black, I set the camera to a long exposure, absorbing as much light as possible. Once I’d taken the photo (and we got back from our holiday) I then edited the raw file in Photoshop and Elements to achieve the desired effect.

This is one of my favourite photos mainly because all the conditions came together at random to have a beautiful photograph.

Taken using a 1000D using the kit lens, no filters, supported on a tripod.

Sometimes I like to show shots or photographs that I have taken to inspire others.

I scour the internet looking for photos to inspire me so I’m hoping that mine can do the same for others.

One of my favourite effects in photography, overlaying multiple shots appearing as if the subjects have been cloned! When it’s done well, it looks really good and amazes your friends!

Back after the Xmas Break!

We’re Back!

It’s been a few weeks since our last post, but we are back!

One of our little Christmas projects is to take photos of our Christmas decorations. Each year, my wife buys one or two new decorations so we take a few photos of them.

She bought some bells, thinking that our tree needed a bit of sound.

This one, my wife made at work, all by her fair hand!

One of our first Christmas decorations, promptly eaten by my sister’s dog!

I used a macro lens to capture the detail in the tree and the decorations. No filters but I did attach an extra flash onto the top with a diffuser.

The twinkly light effect on our tree was achieved by using a long exposure however there are filters that will create a stary effect on your pictures.
